The annual torture known as the PowderKeg was on Saturday. Last year I was left stranded on the runway at JFK. This year I had to miss out on what was going to be a fairly epic powder day. It has snowed about 2' since Thursday night so we had to be at Alta early on Saturday morning before LCC was closed for control work.
With only a few hours sleep and little time to acclimitize the race didn't go quite as well as I wanted. Still I managed to come 6th in my division and was only 6 minutes behind the winner.
Post race I attempted to go touring. Even after a couple of hours rest, my legs were completely dead so I only managed a couple of slow laps on Hellgate. Still, the skiing was quite good. Total of 7,000' on the day.
