Despite the good weather on Friday, I was too tired to do anything big. We met up at the White Pine parking lot with the intention of skiing some of the lines in Upper Maybird.

It was a beautiful day with only a wisp of wind.

First we tried one of the usual lines under the Pfeifferhorn. Character-building best describes the conditions. From the flats we ascended the center of the bowl and booted up one of the chutes to the Maybird / Dry Creek divide.

Dresden and the lower Hypo

Traversing to the left, we decided to ski one of the chutes on lookers left of upper Maybird. The entrance was a bit sketchy.

The first few 'turns' were not any better either. The threat of a breakable crust necessitated some careful negotiation of the top.

Out in the Apron, we finally had some skiable powder.

LM departed at that point, leaving me to crank out some laps. The skiing was OK: a bit variable but mainly settled powder or managable crust.

Exit was via Red Pine. A nice day with some OK skiing. Despite being a 'rest' day, 6k was logged.
