On Sunday, for the first time in an age, it was sunny and warm. Having been assured that mid elevation, due N was not wind-affected, we went to West Porter Fork. Under clear skies we ascended to the top of West Porter, in between Raymond and Peak 9776. Dropping in, the rumours were true": there was still Powder in the Wasatch!
From the run-out zone, we ascended through the trees to the NE facing slide path of Peak 9776.
The snow was rapidly turning to glop and the wet activity was picking up.
One of the many spectacular trees up there.
Cutting around under the cornices, we skied a N shot down the slide path.
Fast skiing through settled powder.
I went up for one more lap before skiing back down to Mill Creek. A short day, with surprizingly good snow in spectacular weather. 6,000' logged.
