After a couple of days of snow and wind the sun finally came out. Ascending ahead of the hoards, we exited Flute skiing down from the summmit to Oboe Creek taking a benign line to lookers right of the rollovers. The snow was quite low density and showing only a bit of wind damage.

The trail-breaking from the creek to Oboe Summit was quite easy.

From there we skied one of the Apostles to below the pass. Again, good low density powder in the trees.

We then ascended to Cowboy ridge, breaking trail on lookers right and avoiding the zone which had avalanched a few days previously.

We skied back down to the pass on the same line. At this point the light deserted us so we ascended our Apostle tracks to Oboe, returning to the ski area after another short ski / skin. We exited via little Flute.

Highlights of the day were the trees:

And the views for future reference: Blackcomb Peak.

Decker Mountain

Black Tusk

Fissile
