After 12"+ of light density snow and 100mph winds, the decision was to forego Timpanogos for West Porter Fork. Starting from a cold Mill Creak at 6,000' we ascended past the cabins and up through the trees.
The weather was quite nice and the follow through winds weren't there.
Looking over at Raymond with Evan apparently having lost his head.
From the ridge, just W of Raymond we took our first run through the trees. Nothing but light, settled powder, no slabs in sight.
We skinned back up the ridge and skied down to the meadows via a chute.
There were quite a few of us, so we tracked it up pretty quickly.
Out in the meadows, it was time to let it rip.
It was just too nice to be in the trees and with little sign of any wind-slabs, we ascended the next ridge to the W in the sun.
From the ridge at 9,600' we could see the significant wind damage over on Gobblers.
Dromedary and Upper Broads Fork.
Fearing wind damage at the summit, we stopped below some cliff bands. All over the place were these amazing trees.
The W face of Raymond
Finally, some lunch.
