It had become apparent that the new snow from Saturday night had settled well with minimal activity reported. Thus the skins were pulled out and I trekked up to the top of 7th. Others had the same idea.

...we headed across the Horstman Glacier

A quick pit above Heavenly Basin suggested 18" consolidated above an ice/wind crust from a couple of weeks earlier Shear tests showed that these were bonding well. Armed with this, we headed into the Basin for the first good turns of the year
